Kayland 4001 Gtx
The 4001 Gtx boots are part of the new 2018 Kayland Collection
Item Descriptions:
After extensive anatomical and dynamic studies, aimed at researching the various phases of the movement of the foot during each type of activity in the alpine environment, 4001 GTX was born, an ultra-technical boot that thanks to its ergonomic and highly technical construction allows excellent performance at every type of mountaineer, both for true mountain professionals and for fans of expedition and alpine travel. In fact, thanks to its excellent characteristics, this Kayland boot is perfect for mountaineering at altitudes of up to 4000 meters, for cross-roads on glaciers and for ice climbing, thanks to full compatibility with automatic crampons.
The upper holds the maximum effort to reach a stylistic, technical and anatomical perfection: the synthetic fabric of the external gaiter, anti-abrasion and anti-cut, is closed by an asymmetric waterproof zipper which, following the lines of the foot and the heel, gives the boot a very high degree of ergonomics and protects from water. The upper part of the cuff is made of elastic material to perfectly enclose the calf. The Gore-Tex® Insulated Comfort Footwear guarantees waterproofness and breathability of the foot, raising the degree of interior comfort of the footwear. The rubber apron which surrounds the boot is made with Diamond Technology, an exclusive polyurethane material that provides a degree of abrasion resistance never seen before.
The lower part of the boot is the heart of very high standard performance. The complexity of the insole, made of fiberglass and coupled with an aluminum layer for maximum thermal insulation, is necessary to maintain a correct torsional rigidity for a safer use of the crampons. The wedge is made of Smart PU, two polyurethane densities that ensure excellent absorption of impacts with the ground and optimal stability on all surfaces, even the most rough. The double TPU insert on the toe and heel is the standard for a secure and precise housing of automatic crampons. The Vibram® Mulaz Evo sole has a specific design for mountaineering and ice climbing: the full areas on the toe and heel provide greater grip and increase safety, while the adhering compound developed specifically for European mountaineering maintains a high grip in all conditions and on every surface.
